　　地坛又称方泽坛，也称拜台，建于明代嘉靖九年，是明清两朝皇帝祭地的场所，这样宏伟宽敞的祭地坛，在国内外都是首屈一指的。西门牌楼高大雄伟壮观，是根据清代乾隆时所建式样重新修建的，建设规模居北京市牌楼之最，绿色的琉璃瓦面，绘以单凤图，双凤图和牡丹图案，正面中心有地坛二字，背面核心有广厚街字样，是地坛公园的主要景点之一。
　　近年来新增了月季园、牡丹园、集芳圃等新的园林景点。其中由艺术大师刘海粟题名的月季园是一个集展览、观赏、科普于一体的月季花园，内有月季300余种；幽雅别致的牡丹园中喷水池、石拱桥、亭廊、水榭相接；集芳圃则是别具特色的园中园。
